CALUC Letter re Re: Application to Change Hours of Service for Existing Liquor Primary Licence

Citrus and Cane Tropical Cocktail Bar at 1900 Douglas Street is applying to extend hours of service from 12 midnight Sunday to 2am, with no change to total occupant load of 120 people.

The DRA Land Use Committee has reviewed the application for the change in hours of operation for the existing Liquor Primary Licence for the operation listed above. The DRA is in receipt of the public notice dated December 6, 2021. However, no background documents/application letter has been provided by the City that explains or supports a rationale for approval.

The DRA LUC members strongly support a vibrant downtown that includes late night drinking establishments but cannot support liquor service beyond midnight on Sundays in what will certainly be one of the densest residential enclaves in the Capital region.
