December's Queer Open Stage will be a Queeraoke (queer karaoke) event and social!
Bring your favourite sing-along (or non-sing-along) and a friend, and we'll bring the snacks, tea, art supplies, fidgets, fairy lights, and karaoke supplies
We wanted to provide everyone some time to be social in a lower pressure setting than a quiet audience, so that we can all get to know each other and relax during a stressful, sometime lonely time of year. The usual Queer Open Stage will resume in January.
Show up at 6:30 pm to sign up, or e-mail for early sign-up.
This event is presented by the Victoria Downtown Residents Association and is hosted by Sara Rose Hébert (they/them), a local queer, neurodivergent singer-songwriter and vocal coach who is passionate about community and accessibility.
NOTE: Allies are welcome as audience members but performance spots are reserved for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks.
We also need VOLUNTEERS! Just a little bit of set up, door, and tear down. The more hands we have, the lighter the workload for all of us! Here's a link to sign up: https://victoriadra.getcommunal.com/volunteer-opportunities/1329.
This is a free event, however, we will be collecting donations to purchase items for the Lekwungen Community Toolshed, so bring cash if you are able:
