Would you know what to do if you encountered someone experiencing an overdose or a toxic drug poisoning? One hour of your time could help you save a life.

Join the Victoria Downtown Residents Association and AVI Health and Community Services for a free Naloxone/Narcan and overdose response training. Learn how to identify the signs of an overdose or toxic drug poisoning and administer Naloxone, a medication used to reverse the effects of an opioid poisoning.

This training is provided free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted, either when registering or at the event.

The closest bus stop (routes 3, 11, 14, 15, 22, 24 and 25) is on the north side of Yates, just west of Cook (approximately 100 metres east of the garden). There is street parking on Yates right in front of the garden.

AVI Health and Community Services is an organization started 40 years ago during the AIDS crisis by 5 queer men who came together to support their community. Today, through its offices across Vancouver Island (Victoria, Nanaimo, Comox Valley and Campbell River), the agency strives to increase safety, wellness, and health equity for people living with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C; people who use substances; people living precariously housed or relying on public spaces for shelter; members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and other marginalized communities experiencing health scarcity on Vancouver Island.
